  1. Andrew:

    Storming piece. Nice one.

(Though “A true, unfettered Nordic genius, then – perhaps the only one ever to emerge from those cold, collectivist lands” … does Finland count? If so, I’m having Litmanen as a true, unfettered genius.)

  2. D:

    No, it doesn’t. Learn geography.

No need to be a dick. Fuck off, don’t come back to the site.

  4. Andy:

Geodude sucks. Diglett’s where it’s at.

  5. Andrew:

Not only a dick, but an inaccurate dick.

O mighty Wikipedia: “The Nordic countries make up a region in Northern Europe and the North Atlantic which consists of Denmark, FINLAND, Iceland, Norway and Sweden and their associated territories, the Faroe Islands, Greenland and Åland.”

    (My capitalisation.)

  6. Ivo:

Excellent article, and a fitting tribute. Laudrup was a genius.

  7. Scott:

Finland is most definitely Nordic, aye. It’s just that I’m not fast and loose with the term g-word; so, good a player as (oddly dark-haired) Finnish slow-coach Litmanen was, he didn’t quite merit the label ‘Nordic genius’.

  8. Andrew:

I would offer first politely disagree, then agree to differ, but this is the internet, so I’m afraid I have to call you something horrible.

    “Something horrible.”

    There we are.
