I’m not much of a computer games player, but when I was asked to review Pro Evolution Soccer I was instantly excited. Here is a football game which replicates football games. You can play against your friends and stuff. It’s available on all the big consoles too, so if you’ve bought one of those already you’re sorted – how great is that?

The fact is though, if you buy this, you may well have bought one of the previous versions of the game. If you didn’t, you did in an alternative reality. You can’t argue with science.

So what is different about this year’s version of the game? Well, according to the game’s esteemed makers, it has “enhanced realism” – so it’s more real than the last game. It has “improved controls” – so the controls are improved, which can only be a good thing. It also has “enhanced graphics” as compared to last time – so the graphics are enhanced.  Suck on that, last time.

We’re going to have a lot of fun testing out these new features together. The three of us who do this website are meeting up to play it as soon as it is delivered. Alex is bringing the Lucozade and I’m bringing our team shirts. Callum doesn’t bother with any of that because he takes his PES play very seriously. I simply can’t stop smiling. It is actually quite painful.
