Anyone remember The Match Trivia Quiz?

Brian Moore in the commentary box, Bobby Moore and Elton Welsby in the studio and an interview with Cilla Black at half time. What more could you ask for? Well, a goal or two would have been nice, but man of the match Bruce Grobbelaar ensured West Ham to settle for a point with Liverpool.

This was the season before the start of the Premier League – or to put it another way, 20 years of non-stop joy was still to come. Of course, West Ham weren’t there; they went down this season, their sole achievement that season coming when they effectively stopped Manchester United from winning the league, by which point they were already relegated. But that’s a story for another day.

As for Liverpool, Movember’s Graeme Souness was just getting stuck into the work that would make him so appreciated at Old Trafford.
