A graph of Wayne Rooney’s relationship with Manchester United fans

Wayne Rooney is a complicated man. I think we can say that and people will know we’re taking the piss without having to explain, but you never want to risk it on THE INTERNET. Rooney, the Roonester, Mr Roo is thick. My opinion on just how thick varies, just as my opinion on how much of an arsehole he is varies.

And similarly, as it turns out,  Manchester United fans have gone up and down and side to side on whether or not they like Wayne. At the moment, given that United are, what Alex Ferguson described as,”a bag of shite,*” Rooney is both the club’s best striker and midfielder, so his stock is high. It has to be. But just wait until the signings of Wesley Sneijder, Javi Martinez and Bastian Schweinsteiger overshadow hi- oh, he’s probably going to be popular at the club for the foreseeable future, then.
